Recently, my skin has had a little bit of a meltdown, and I started to break out across my jawline. Whether this is due to early call times, the cold weather or too many treats over the festive season - I don't know, but my poor skin was looking unbalanced and a little sad.
I really like this kind of mask; it doesn't set on the skin and is non-drying, so you can really massage it in and it doesn't form a 'second skin' like a lot of masks do. This kind of mask is great for dealing with imperfections and blemishes, as it absorbs excess sebum and contains a hefty amount of zinc, which is wonderful at zapping any unsightly little marks.
As I've mentioned before, I really believe in working a mask into your skin, not just letting it sit on the surface. I spend around two-three minutes massaging it in, to get the full benefits of the zinc. I find that massaging a mask in not only activates the ingredients, but pushes them deep into the lower layers of the skin, for better results.
I left the mask on for 15 minutes, and then rinsed off with warm water. The mask felt soothing and nourishing on my skin - a little tingly, and I could feel it clearing and cleaning the upper layers, but nothing too drastic, just gentle and quote fresh-feeling. Afterwards, my skin felt extra clean and looked hydrated and calmer than before.
A day later, and the verdict is in. My skin is calmer, and looking/feeling much happier. It's also looking clearer, with the blemishes definitely looking less prominent. Plus, my skin is looking more illuminated - a must on these gloomy grey days!
